Equal (“Shavim” in Hebrew) is the lead single from the studio album of the same name, released in 2007. The song, written by Elai Botner and performed by a duo of Botner with Ran Danker, touches upon topics as equality and acceptance, and hopes for the day when all people are treated equally – topics which have become more prominent in Israeli music in recent years. This arrangement is for string orchestra with the addition of piano and percussion (drum set). It will work even with an incomplete string ensemble (i.e. few or no violas/bass) thanks to the supporting piano part.
